We are sometimes asked to recommend accommodation close to the Cathedral. The list below shows accommodation in the relatively cheap range. There are other, more expensive hotels within 10-15 minutes of the Cathedral, and other, relatively inexpensive hotels 20 minutes' walk or more away. 

• The Atura Hotel Wellington, 24 Hawkestone Street, Thorndon, Wellington. Nearest hotel to the Cathedral. Has been used by visiting ringers in the past, without complaint. 

• Hotel Waterloo & Backpackers, 1 Bunny Street, 6011 Wellington. Close to the Cathedral, Railway Station, and Bluebridge Ferry Terminal. On the edge of the CBD. Budget accommodation, which has been used by visiting ringers, without complaint. 

• Shepherds Arms Hotel, 285 Tinakori Road, Thorndon, 6011 Wellington. A pub with rooms above, conveniently located for the Cathedral. 

• Ibis Wellington, 153 Featherston Street, 6140 Wellington. In the middle of the CBD, 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral. 

• Travelodge Wellington, 2-6 Gilmer Terrace, 6011 Wellington. On the edge of the CBD, 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral.
